Viewing web pages in NetNewsWire’s preview pane

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Quite by accident, I just figured out a neat new trick in NetNewsWire, which (for the uninitiated) is a fantabulous newsfeed reader for OSX – the best I’ve tried, and I’ve tried every one on the market that I have come across. Bearing in mind that I’m a software junkie, that’s more than a few!

When viewing posts in NetNewsWire’s preview pane […] there’s no option to open the web page right there in the preview pane.

WordPress 2.0

Happy New Year to all!

I thought I’d start off the New Year by upgrading to the new version of WordPress, my blogging software. I’d read some less-than-enthusiastic reviews and so didn’t do it immediately on its release. But over the New Year weekend, I didn’t want to actually work so I placated myself by doing something work-related instead. 🙂

Feedburner again… and it’s all good!

Wednesday, October 12th, 2005

The reason I moved away from Feedburner was because I thought it was difficult to exit the service and was afraid of my feed subscribers getting stuck. However, last night I had a really great chat to Rick Klaus from Feedburner, and he explained a lot of things that now make sense. I see I was quite wrong in my fear that there was no easy way to exit.

Follow-up on Feedburner

Well, that was short and sweet. I’ve already exited FeedBurner’s service.

Feedburner has no “exit strategy” and once you get people signing up to your blog’s feeds via a Feedburner link, you’re pretty much stuck with Feedburner forever (unless you’re paying for a premium service that will forward feeds forever for you).

Unheard Word Feeds Moved to FeedBurner

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

I’ve just moved the Unheard Word blog feeds to FeedBurner. Everything should redirect so there should be no need to re-subscribe, but if you have any issues please let me know and I’ll look into it.

What Makes a Blog a Success?

Wednesday, September 7th, 2005

Further to my post on why Business Blogging is a Good Thing, I would like to point out that a blog’s success is largely up to you. It’s important to remember that blogging is circular. Blogs don’t exist in isolation. They involve and depend on interaction in order to succeed.

Why Business Blogging is a Good Thing

I believe Business Blogging can be a Good Thing. There are books written on this subject, but here’s a few of my own ideas why:

The blogging thing

Saturday, August 20th, 2005

The whole bogging thing is fascinating me lately. My mind is spinning with ideas of how to make it work for me. Yes, I’m talking about ways in which blogging can help me (and anyone) make money.
